Jeffery Jenkins

I’m a multimedia artist based in Oak Park, IL, working at the intersection of digital and analog media. My practice explores themes of memory, perception, and identity, often blending traditional photography, custom digital collages, and AI-generated visuals to create immersive narratives. As someone on the autism spectrum, I infuse my work with an unfiltered, raw expression that celebrates neurodiversity and the power of adaptation.

“The Spice Must Flow”
This piece is a convergence of memory and perception—a fusion of adaptation, survival, and raw autistic/artistic expression. It features AI-generated avatars trained on my own style, layered with convoluted textures, custom image archives, childhood sketches, and familial echoes.

Materials: Traditional photography, custom digital collage archive, and AI-generated artwork.

Dimensions & Format: High-resolution digital files optimized for virtual display.

Statement: Dedicated to my mentor David Lynch and the incredible guidance of The Art Life community.

“Anger and depression and sorrow are beautiful things in a story, but they’re like poison to the filmmaker or artist. They’re like a vice grip on creativity. If you’re in that grip, you can hardly get out of bed, much less experience the flow of creativity and ideas. You must have clarity to create.” - David Lynch

Lily & Friends is a taxonomy study and meditation on nature and parasitic plants. It is a funerary process and collaboration with nature. Memories are upcycled to parasitic plants for physical and psychological regeneration. Painting becomes an act of sharing and revealing before burying and fossilizing. All the works exhibited in the Gloze showcase are of an amazon water lily named Victoria Amazonica, or, as I have come to know her, Lily.
